Legal Admissibility of Electronic Information

For some time there have been debates about whether information stored in electronic should be admissible as evidence in a court of law. Government initiatives towards electronic information storage have expedited the acceptance of scanned images as legal evidence.

Over the past decade guidelines have been produced in the form of PD0008 and BIP 0008. However it is only recently that a British Standard (BS 10008) has been produced to cover the area of legal admissibility of electronic information.

Hugh Symons has, for many years, complied with the requirements of BS 10008 and its forerunners, and is formally accredited to this stringent standard.
